Job summary

Nextt in Brisbane is seeking male Disability Support Workers to assist a participant in a Supported Independent Living setting. You will provide person-centred support to build independence and confidence, including daily living activities, community engagement and medication assistance.

Essential checks include NDIS Worker Screening, Working with Children, full driver's licence, and First Aid/CPR. Casual shifts available with varied hours, aiming for more hours over time.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the participant as he settles into his home and gradually increases involvement in the community.
• Encouraging independence with daily living skills, routines and household tasks.
• Supporting community access, social participation and engagement in meaningful activities.
• Providing medication assistance in accordance with the participant’s support plan and procedures.
• Assisting with manual handling and other support requirements as needed.
• Promoting choice, control, dignity and individual decision‑making.
• Building a positive and trusting relationship through patience, consistency and respectful communication.
• Following individual support plans and maintaining documentation and handovers.
• Working with the support team to maintain a safe, welcoming home environment.
