Job summary

Empower Care Pty Ltd in Toowoomba is urgently seeking support workers for SIL housing. This casual/contract role involves weekend shifts and weekday shifts of 4–8 hours, with higher weekend rates according to award.

You will assist participants with daily tasks, accompany to appointments, support healthy living, medication administration, and community engagement. No personal care required, shift notes required; compliance with vaccinations and checks is expected.

Qualifications

• Current First Aid and CPR Accreditation.
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• National Criminal History (Police) Check.
• Covid-19 Vaccination.
• Valid QLD driving licence and fully insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Take weekend shifts and some weekday shifts (4–8 hours).
• Accompany participant to appointments and assist with daily tasks.
• Assist with medication and encourage healthy eating.
• Provide companionship and encourage community participation.
• Complete shift notes at end of each shift.
• No personal care required.

Job Description

Empower Care Pty Ltd is urgently seeking support workers for SIL housing in Toowoomba. Tasks and Duties of a Support worker may include: Some weekend shifts for 3-4 weeks, minium 4hours each day.

Weekend shifts paid at higher rates according to award rates (please enquire) Week day shifts 4-8 hours per shift. Attending social and recreational events with the participant.

Accompaning the participant to appointments. Some meal preparation and encouraging healthy eating. Assisting with medication.

Cleaning, shopping and assisting the participant with daily tasks. Providing companionship and taking a genuine interest in the participant and his interests. Encouraging the participant to engage in activities in the community.

Supporting the participant to develop new hobbies and interests. Encouraging the participant to make decisions for himself and feel confident doing so. The support worker will be required to complete shift notes at the end of each support.
