Job summary

Glenray Industries Limited in Bathurst is seeking a dedicated Disability Support Worker to assist clients in their homes and community, with a rotating roster including nights and weekends. You will provide compassionate care and work as part of the SILGroup Homes team.

You'll deliver personal care, health and hygiene support, daily living assistance and community access, helping participants achieve independence while maintaining safety, dignity and confidentiality in all interactions.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and confidentiality when handling participant information.
• Experience in disability support or a related field is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Work varying shifts including early mornings, afternoons, nights, and weekends.
• Assist participants with personal care, health and hygiene tasks as required.
• Support participants to achieve personal goals and build independence.
• Help with daily tasks such as meals, cleaning and community activities.
• Collaborate with a team of Disability Support Workers to deliver care.
• Communicate with families and guardians about progress and wellbeing.
• Perform manual handling tasks safely using hoists or equipment as needed.

About the role:

We have bothcasual and part-time positionsavailable in Bathurstwithin ourSILGroup Homes. Our services support individuals living with a disability in their own homes or in the community to live as independently as possible. These supports may include personal care, health and hygiene assistance, home care and cleaning, community access (such as shopping or attending appointments), and working alongside participants to build independence, skills, and capacity.

The level of care for our clients varies, meaning no two days are the same — giving you the chance to gain a broad range of experience and skills. We'll support you along your career journey and give you opportunities to develop into the best carer you can be.

Key responsibilities include:

Working varies shifts including early mornings, afternoons, active nights, and weekends.

Assisting participants with personal care, health, feeding, and hygiene as required (including showering, bowel care, and catheter management).

Supporting participants to work towards achieving their personal goals and aspirations.

Assisting participants with daily tasks such as meals, cleaning, and participation in community or internal activities and programs.

Working collaboratively with other Disability Support Workers as part of a team.

Communicating with families, guardians, and advocates as required to discuss participants’ progress and wellbeing.

Undertaking manual handling of participants as required, including safe use of hoists, lifters, and slide sheets.

We're looking for someone who has:

• Experiencein a similar role or background in disability support is highly desirable

Note: Our commitment to safety means successful applicants must hold (or are willing to obtain) current Drivers Licence, First Aid, NDIS Worker Check and Working with Children Check.

This role requires you to work a rotating roster including nights and weekends as our care requirements are 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. By applying for this position you are confirming you are available to work 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
