Job summary

Life Without Barriers is seeking a Disability Support Worker to provide person-centred active support to people living with a disability in SIL settings. You will assist with personal care, daily living tasks and community participation, including 1-on-1 supports and engaging activities.

The role requires a NSW driver’s licence, basic tech skills, and a current First Aid certificate (HLTAID003 or HLTAID011). Probity checks are part of the successful candidate process.

Responsibilities

As a Disability Support Worker, you will be providing person-centred active support to people living with disability. Supported Independent Living (SIL) is supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance., * Get involved in feel-good activities at home and out in the community

* Full personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing and grooming

* Engage in watching weekly sporting events - big tick if you are an AFL fan!

* Support clients to make everyday spaces shine through domestic assistance

* Confidently support clients with complex needs

* Follow behaviour management and mealtime management plans

* Encourage community participation

* 1 on 1 supports within the community

About the Candidate

* An unrestricted New South Wales driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle

* Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop

* A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011

Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.

Work Environment

* Casual pay rate $45.28 as per Level 2 Pay point 1 SCHADS Award
