Job summary

Challenge Community Services – Armidale NSW is seeking compassionate Support Workers to assist clients with high support needs in Accommodation Services. The role involves personal care, daily living support, and promoting autonomy within shared living environments.

We offer SCHAD’s Award Level 2 pay rates with base rates from $36.22–$39.53 per hour or casual rates $45.28-$49.41, plus salary packaging and ongoing training. Flexible roster with sleepovers and opportunities for additional leave.

We’re looking for compassionate and skilledSupport Workersto join our Accommodation Services team. You’ll assist clients with high support needs, including those using wheelchairs and requiring medical support, helping them live with dignity and independence.

The role involves personal care, daily living support, and promoting autonomy within shared living environments.

• SCHAD’s Award Level 2Pay rates from$36.22– $39.53 (base rate) or$45.28 - $49.41 (casual rate)
• Salary Packaging: Not-for-profit salary packaging available, including $15,900 tax-free + $2,650 meal and entertainment benefits per FBT year. (if eligible)
• Flexible roster with shift work, weekends, public holidays & sleepovers
• Option to purchase extra annual leave (if eligible)
• Fitness Passport access for you & family (eligibility criteria applies)

Duties:

• Provide personal care and daily living support

Skills and Experience:

• Experience supporting high-needs disability clients
• Confidence in manual handling and use of aids
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Flexibility for varied shifts and rostered work
• Basic Microsoft Office skills (Word & Outlook)
• Current Driver’s Licence, Working With Children Check, NSW NDIS Worker Screening Check, and National Police Check
• Access to a personal vehicle for work use, if required
• Certificate III or IV in Disability Support (or equivalent)
• Knowledge of NDIA processes
