Job summary

Lifestyle Solutions Albion Park Rail NSW is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to help a customer become more independent at home and in the community. You will mentor, coach daily living skills, administer medication, and document incidents with clear handover notes.

Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, helping clients access community programs, and managing epilepsy alongside mental health considerations. A flexible shift pattern and client-focused culture await.

Qualifications

• Must have Drivers Licence and Full Comprehensive Insurance.
• Experience in supporting people with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coaching independent living skills such as cooking, domestic and social skills
• Administering medication and adherence to individual support plans
• Completing clear, concise and factual handover notes and incident reports
• Providing personal care such as toileting, showering, feeding and dressing when required
• Helping customers engage with their local communities and culture through access to Community Participation Programs and recreational activities
• Personal care is a must, and must be comfortable and knowledgeable in doing so.
• Epilepsy management knowledge is essential.
• Community Access will also be a requirement at certain times.
• Strong understanding of mental health conditions (depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, mood disorders).
• Understanding of mental health crisis management.

Lifestyle Solutions provide innovative and flexible person-centered support for people living with a disability. Support Worker to assist a customer to become more independent, in their own home and in the community.

As a Support Worker your responsibilities will include:

• Be willing to be work a variety of shifts which includes mornings, afternoons, evenings, awake shifts, sleepovers and weekends
• Versatile communication skills including the ability to interact with both verbal and non-verbal customers
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or be willing to obtain)
• Current First Aid Certificate, HLTAID003
• Formal qualifications in Disability, Community Services, or similar, would be advantageous
• Be compassionate, reliable and punctual
