Job summary

Care For You is seeking a compassionate Disability Support Worker to provide high level 1:1 attendant care to clients across inner and outer Melbourne. You will work with clients and their families, delivering person-centred support in home settings.

Ideal candidates have strong communication and listening skills, can work independently, and also thrive in a team. Relevant Disability qualifications are preferred but not essential; NDIS checks and First Aid/CPR are required.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and listening abilities.
• Ability to work independently with clients and families, and in a team.
• Experience in high level 1:1 attendant care is valued but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level 1:1 attendant care for SCI/ABI clients.
• Assist clients with daily living activities in home settings.
• Follow care plans and document progress as directed by supervisors.
• Maintain client dignity, respect and safety during all interactions.

You are a genuine, caring, reliable carer who has a passion for making a positive difference in the lives of our clients. You enjoy working independently with clients and their families as well as in a team environment. You have excellent communication and listening skills and can take direction from clients.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• Previous experience providing high level 1:1 attendant care support for SCI (Spinal Cord Injury) & ABI (Acquired Brain Injury) injured clients is highly valued but not essential
• NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid & CPR certificates
• Drivers Licence and own vehicle preferred
• A relevant Disability qualification or equivalent is preferred but not essential
