Job summary

People Care Services is seeking a compassionate Disability Support Worker to assist individuals with disabilities in Deception Bay, Rothwell, and Bribie Island, QLD. This casual role requires availability across 24/7 shift patterns, including weekdays, weekends, and evenings as needed.

You will provide personalised support, help with personal care, and promote social inclusion through community activities, while maintaining accurate records and collaborating with the care team.

About the role

As a Disability Support Worker at People Care Services, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals living with disabilities to lead fulfilling and independent lives. This casual position is based in Deception Bay, Rothwell and Bribie Island, QLD, and offers flexibility to balance your work and personal commitments.

Candidates must be available to work across 24/7 shift patterns including weekdays, weekends, and evenings as required.

What you’ll be doing

Providing personalised support and assistance to individuals with a range of disabilities, enabling them to participate in daily activities and achieve their goals

Assisting with personal care, including grooming, dressing, and meal preparation

Facilitating community engagement and recreational activities to promote social inclusion

Maintaining detailed records and documentation to ensure the highest quality of care

Collaborating with the broader care team to develop and implement individualised support plans

Advocating for the rights and needs of your clients

What we’re looking for

A genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and a commitment to enhancing their quality of life

Previous experience in disability support, aged care, or healthcare preferred but not essential for enthusiastic candidates

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with your clients

A caring, patient, and empathetic nature, with the ability to adapt your approach to meet the unique needs of each individual

A valid driver's licence and access to reliable transportation

Completion of a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent qualification is highly regarded

Must possess a valid NDIS Worker Screening Check at the time of application

Must hold current First Aid and CPR certification at the time of application

Valid National Police Check (no older than 6 months)

Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa

All four NDIS modules (Worker Orientation Module, New Worker Induction Module, Supporting Safe & Effective Communication Module, and Supporting Safe & Enjoyable Meals Module) must be completed prior to application
