Job summary

Wyndham Central College seeks a Disability and Inclusion Leading Teacher to oversee the school’s disability inclusion strategies, NCCD compliance, and inclusive teaching practices. You will work with teachers, wellbeing staff, and families to ensure appropriate adjustments and support for students.

The role requires leadership in implementing high-impact teaching strategies, monitoring student learning data, and coordinating specialist services to improve outcomes across years 7–12.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Disability Inclusion processes to support students with disability and inclusion practices.
• Identify students needing substantial supports and coordinate planning (SSG/IEP).
• Attend profile meetings and prepare and upload evidence for processes.
• Ensure appropriate funding allocations for Tier 2/3 supports across the school.
• Lead a whole-school approach to disability inclusion with accountable systems and data use.
• Support teachers and learning support staff with documentation of adjustments.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional learning on disability inclusion and trauma-informed practice.
• Liaise with families and external services to identify and respond to support needs.
• Coordinate integration of recommendations from professionals into classroom practices.
• Build capacity of Education Support staff for DIP/PSD funding adjustments.
• Lead the integration team and manage the DI budget and resources.
• Advocate for inclusive practices and oversee referral processes for additional supports.
• Assist student transitions into year 7 and between schools as needed.
• Contribute to broader inclusion initiatives and reconciliation efforts.
