Job summary

Leopold Primary School in Geelong is seeking a Learning Specialist - Disability Inclusion Leader to drive high-quality teaching and inclusive practice across the curriculum, modelling exemplary teaching and supporting teachers to improve student learning, engagement and wellbeing.

The role includes demonstration lessons, coaching teachers, providing feedback, and leading school-wide professional learning to build capacity in disability inclusion and inclusive education across the school

Qualifications

• SC1: Expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to model teaching across the curriculum.
• SC2: Expertise in high impact teaching strategies and using data to evaluate impact.
• SC3: Ability to monitor and assess student learning and give feedback to students and parents.
• SC4: Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with staff, parents and community.
• SC5: Model behaviours aligned with Department values and lead professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate high-level teaching practice and conduct demonstration lessons.
• Lead and model whole-school improvement strategies related to curriculum delivery.
• Provide professional learning through observation, feedback and peer collaboration.
• Mentor and coach teachers to improve practice using student data.
• Develop school-wide professional learning structures and protocols.
