Job summary

Hawkesbury City Council in Windsor, NSW, seeks a Director - Infrastructure Services to lead asset management, capital delivery, and operations across a ~170-strong team. You will oversee a $120 million capital works program, delivering road, building and community infrastructure while strengthening governance, planning and lifecycle management.

The role demands strategic judgement in a political, community-facing setting, with a focus on safety, wellbeing and strong stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in engineering, construction or related discipline.
• Extensive senior leadership experience in a complex statutory or regulated environment.
• Strategic judgement with the ability to operate in a political and community-facing setting.
• Strong budgeting, cost-control, performance, project and contract-management capability.
• Experience leading change and a large multidisciplinary workforce.
• Governance, probity, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Commitment to safety, wellbeing, inclusion and respectful leadership.

Responsibilities

• Deliver major infrastructure projects and manage the capital program.
• Strengthen asset planning, data, prioritisation and lifecycle management.
• Lead asset management, capital delivery, infrastructure operations, waste and resource recovery, plant and fleet, and emergency management.
• Develop managers and grow internal capability; create long-term succession.
• Build credibility with Councillors, employees, government partners and the community.
• Lead teams with clarity, respect and strong governance.
