Job summary

Molong Early Learning Centre in Molong NSW is seeking a Diploma qualified educator to join our not-for-profit, community-based service.

You will lead learning in the room alongside our Room Leaders and Educational Leader, mentor Certificate III staff, and help shape a nature-based program with outdoor play, a 38-hour week, Monday to Friday, plus a rostered day off every fourth week. There is room to grow towards Room Leader as opportunities arise.

Qualifications

• Diploma qualification required.
• NSW Working With Children Check for paid employment.
• Current first aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and asthma management training.
• Child protection training and a satisfactory National Police Check or willingness to obtain one before start.
• Warmth, reliability and a love of outdoor, play-based learning.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and document play-based learning aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework.
• Lead daily routines and model warm, responsive practice for educators and trainees.
• Build strong partnerships with families and share each child's learning with them.
• Contribute to the Quality Improvement Plan and to the team’s practice.
• Uphold health, safety and child protection procedures in everything you do.

About us

Molong Early Learning Centre has been part of this community since 1972. We are a community-based, not-for-profit service run by a volunteer parent committee, caring for up to 61 children a day across three rooms: Wilay for babies from birth to two, Yingaa for our two to three year olds, and Biladurang for our four to five year old preschool program.

Our program is nature-based, with loose parts, nature play and plenty of time outdoors. We are rated Exceeding the National Quality Standard for Governance and Leadership, and we sit in the heart of the Central West, about 30 km from Orange.

About the role

We are looking for a Diploma qualified educator to join us in a permanent full-time role. You will lead learning in the room alongside our Room Leaders and Educational Leader, mentor our Certificate III educators and trainees, and help shape a nature-based program where children learn through play and plenty of time outdoors. The role is 38 hours a week, Monday to Friday, worked as eight-hour shifts with a rostered day off every fourth week, and there is room to grow towards Room Leader as opportunities arise.

In this role you will:

• Plan, deliver and document play-based learning aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework

• Lead daily routines and model warm, responsive practice for the educators and trainees you work with

• Build strong partnerships with families and share each child's learning with them
