Job summary

Ballykin ELC Cromer is seeking a passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our Preschool team. You’ll deliver high-quality, play-based programs grounded in EYLF, focusing on child-led learning and strong partnerships with families.

Join our beautiful, nature-inspired setting with a collaborative team. You’ll work to ensure safe, inclusive environments while mentoring peers and exploring nature, sustainability, storytelling or STEM in daily activities.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care required.
• Experience in a long day care or preschool setting preferred.
• Strong understanding of child development, EYLF, NQS, and child-led learning.
• Demonstrated knowledge of child safe practices and commitment to safety.
• Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis and Food Safety training.
• NSW Working With Children Check and Child Protection qualification required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, play-based learning programs grounded in EYLF.
• Work as part of the PRESCHOOL team with two Early Childhood Teachers.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with children, families, and team.
• Create inclusive, stimulating environments reflecting children’s voices and interests.
• Lead safe and responsive practices and uphold child protection commitments.
• Observe and document learning, contributing to thoughtful planning.
• Bring passions such as nature, storytelling, or STEM into activities.
• Utilise Ballykin Cromer’s outdoor setting to promote outdoor learning.
• Mentor colleagues to foster curiosity, professionalism and fun.

Who We’re Looking For

• Diploma or experienced Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
• Experience in a long day care or preschool environment
• Strong understanding of child development, EYLF, NQS, and child-led learning
• Demonstrated knowledge of child safe practices and a proactive commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all children
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A team player with a warm, reflective, and professional approach
• Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis training, Food Safety training
