Thornton ELC invites applications for Diploma and Certificate III Educator roles in our Newcastle-Maitland region. You will nurture relationships with children and families, apply your pedagogical knowledge, and document each child's learning journey in a safe, stimulating environment.

We value leaders who can motivate other educators, uphold EYLF/NQS standards, and maintain current First Aid, CPR, and child protection credentials.

Qualifications

• Recognised Early Childhood qualifications (Diploma or Cert III).
• Passion for Early Childhood Education and Care.
• Ability to lead other educators to deliver care and education.
• Strong understanding of EYLF and NQS.
• Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
• Child Protection Certificate and Working with Children Check.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with children and families.
• Apply pedagogical knowledge to meet individual needs.
• Observe, document, interpret and evaluate children's progress.
• Stay informed about regulations and EYLF while implementing best practice.
• Plan and program outstanding educational experiences.
• Ensure compliance with government regulations.

The role as a Diploma & Certificate III Educator will also see you inspiring the programs while ensuring a safe and stimulating learning environment.

A Diploma or Certificate III Educator your role will entail:

• Building positive and caring relationships with the children and their families
• Applying your pedagogical knowledge and expertise to ensure the individual needs of all children are met
• Observing, documenting, interpreting and evaluating the children's progress,
• Keeping informed about the NQF, NQS and the current National Regulations plus current thinking, research and practice while implementing the EYLF
• Planning and programming an outstanding educational program for our children
• Complying with the relevant government regulations
• Meet and exceed the individual needs of each child in all areas of their development
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Create a supportive, stimulating and secure learning environment for the children

Skills and experience you will need:

• Recognised Early Childhood Qualification (Diploma & Certificate Qualification)
• Passion for Early Childhood Education and Care
• Skills to lead other educators, motivating them to excel as you deliver care and educational programs
• A strong understanding of the EYLF and NQS
• Current First Aid and CPR Training
• Child Protection Certificate
• Hold a current Working with Children Check
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Foundations of Child Safety Training
