Description du poste

Career Opportunities: Digital Product Owner, Channel & Product Expansion (3729)

Look forward to working with Australia’s leading and most trusted provider of Employee Management Services, making the benefits of salary packaging, novated leasing, and fleet management readily available to employers and their employees.

Working at Smartgroup offers more than a job. It is a dynamic workplace that matches the enthusiasm for the work you do and ambition for an exciting fast-paced career. We have all been hired for a purpose and a reason.

Every day you will be part of a team that helps support fellow Australians - many working in essential services, corporates, government, and not-for-profits - to take home more money in their pay packets.

About the role

We’re looking for a Product Owner, Channel & Product Expansion to help create new ways for customers to access our products through third-party partnerships and technical integrations. Sitting at the intersection of product strategy, partnerships and technology, you’ll explore new acquisition channels and shape the reusable capabilities needed to embed our products within partner ecosystems. You’ll test opportunities early, determine where genuine customer and commercial value exists, and work closely with Technology to turn the strongest opportunities into scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities
  • Discover and shape new channel opportunities with third-party partners, identifying where integrations can create meaningful customer and commercial value.
  • Lead product thinking across complex integrations, working closely with Technology and Engineering to understand architectural options, dependencies and trade-offs.
  • Develop reusable capabilities that can support multiple partners and channels, rather than defaulting to bespoke solutions for every integration.
  • Test and validate opportunities early, finding practical ways to prove customer or partner value before committing to significant technology investment.
  • Translate between commercial, product and technical perspectives, ensuring technology decisions remain connected to the customer and partner outcomes they are intended to enable.
  • Prioritise investment based on evidence, balancing technical feasibility with adoption potential, channel reach, acquisition economics and scalability.
Skills and experience

You’ll bring:

  • Strong product experience working with third-party or B2B integrations, where the customer proposition depends on external organisations, platforms or systems.
  • Strong technical and architecture fluency, with the ability to contribute confidently to discussions about APIs, integration patterns, data movement, platform capabilities and architectural dependencies.
  • The ability to work closely with senior Technology and Engineering stakeholders, constructively challenging and influencing decisions from a product and customer-value perspective.
  • A strong test-and-learn mindset, with experience validating assumptions quickly and efficiently before committing to significant investment.
  • Confidence operating in ambiguous or zero-to-one environments, where the proposition, partner model and technical solution may not yet be defined.
  • Strong commercial and product judgement, with the ability to assess opportunities across customer value, partner value, adoption, acquisition economics, technical feasibility and scalability.
  • Relevant experience in loyalty, embedded products, fintech, HR or payroll technology, marketplaces, partner APIs or other B2B2C platform environments would be highly regarded, but isn’t essential.
What’s in it for you?

Smart team members enjoy a range of benefits designed to support flexibility, wellbeing, reward, and growth:

  • Smart Leave, an additional week of leave each year
  • Free lunch every week
  • Up to 20 weeks Paid Parental Leave with superannuation contributions and a Return-to-Work Bonus
  • Make a Difference Days – paid days off to volunteer for the community and environment
  • Salary packaging and novated leasing benefits (of course!)
  • Free flu vaccinations
  • Employee Share Plan
