SeaLink K migrates to K’gari (Fraser Island) with a permanent live-on-island mechanic role. You will repair and service a fleet of 4WD buses, resort vehicles, and plant, ensuring safety and reliability for guests exploring the island. Qualifications

• Trade qualification required for Commercial Heavy Diesel Mechanic role.
• Current MR/HR licence must be held at time of application.
• Must be physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.
• Knowledge of mechanical workshop operations and equipment beneficial.
• Ability to operate and interpret diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs and scheduled servicing for the fleet of 4WD buses, resort vehicles, plant and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure safety and reliability.
• Test drive vehicles to verify repairs and safety standards.
• Maintain documentation of workmanship and compliance.

About the Role

As one of our mechanics, you will carry out repairs, scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance across the company’s fleet of 4WD buses, resort vehicles, plant and equipment. Your work will help keep the fleet safe, reliable and ready to deliver comfortable, memorable experiences for guests exploring K’gari.

Key Role Requirements

• Actively follow all Workplace Health & Safety procedures and practices consistent with legislative requirements and regulations.
• Provide mechanical maintenance and repairs to 4WD buses to safety standards
• Provide mechanical maintenance and repairs to the Resort fleet of vehicles to safety standards
• Provide mechanical maintenance and repairs to the Resort plant and equipment to safety standards
• Test drive vehicles

Skills, Qualifications & Experience
