Job description

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Development Manager to join our team and play a key role in managing the successful delivery of property development projects from acquisition through to completion.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive property professional who enjoys working across multiple stages of the development lifecycle, managing complex projects and collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to influence project outcomes, contribute to strategic decision-making and help deliver developments that reflect ALAND’s commitment to quality and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage allocated development workstreams through feasibility, due diligence, concept design, development application, design development, sales and marketing, construction , delivery and settlements.
• Coordinate project programs, meeting actions, document registers, consultant deliverables and approval tasks to keep projects progressing.
• Prepare and maintain project briefs, reports, action logs, status updates and governance materials.
• Prepare and update feasibility inputs, market research, development cost forecasts, cashflow assumptions and project schedules.
• Track project budgets, invoices, purchase orders and payment approvals in line with delegated authority and financial governance.
• Identify emerging cost, approval, program or scope risks and escalation with recommended actions.
• Support development application submissions, planning documentation, authority engagement and consultant coordination.
• Review design and construction documentation for alignment with the approved project brief, planning assumptions and agreed deliverables.
• Partner with Design & Construction, Sales & Marketing, Finance, Legal and Property to deliver the project.
• Maintain accurate project files, decision records and correspondence in line with Construction development governance standards.

About You

• Property development experience, across feasibility, planning, approvals, project coordination, or delivery in residential, mixed-use, commercial or retail environments.
• Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in Property Development, Property Economics, Commerce, Construction Management, Project Management, Architecture, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Working knowledge of development feasibility, market research, project programming, planning submissions, authority processes and consultant coordination.
• Strong financial literacy, including budgets, invoices, cashflow inputs, cost tracking and project reporting.
• High-quality written communication, documentation, meeting coordination and presentation skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organisation, task prioritisation and ability to manage multiple project activities concurrently.
• Collaborative approach with the ability to work with internal teams, consultants, councils, authorities and external stakeholders.
