Qualifications

We are seeking an experienced Development Project Manager to manage and coordinate property development and construction projects across the full project lifecycle.

Acting on behalf of the developer/client, you will oversee and manage the project delivery process, working closely with consultants, builders, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with programme, budget, quality and contractual requirements.

The role will involve hands‑on management from design, approvals and tendering through contract negotiation, construction, completion and handover, with significant involvement throughout the construction phase.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Development Project Manager to manage and coordinate property development and construction projects across the full project lifecycle.

Acting on behalf of the developer/client, you will oversee and manage the project delivery process, working closely with consultants, builders, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with programme, budget, quality and contractual requirements.

The role will involve hands‑on management from design, approvals and tendering through contract negotiation, construction, completion and handover, with significant involvement throughout the construction phase.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing projects from early planning through construction, completion and handover.
• Managing and coordinating engineers, consultants, quantity surveyors, builders, contractors and key project stakeholders.
• Representing the developer/client throughout project delivery.
• Managing project programmes, key milestones, budgets, costs and project risks.
• Leading and coordinating tendering, procurement, builder selection and contract negotiations.
• Managing construction contracts, including payment claims, variations, extensions of time and other contractual matters.
• Working closely with builders throughout the construction phase and regularly attending site and project meetings.
• Monitoring construction progress, quality, programme and overall project delivery on behalf of the developer.
• Identifying and resolving design, construction, contractual and project issues in a timely manner.
• Providing clear project updates and recommendations to management.

About You

• Minimum 5 years of relevant Australian construction, project management or property development experience.
• Demonstrated experience working across the full lifecycle of Australian construction projects, from design and approvals through construction and handover. Candidates whose experience is primarily limited to a single stage of the project lifecycle, without substantial end‑to‑end project involvement, will not be suitable for this role.
• Experience in apartment, multi‑residential, mixed‑use or other substantial building projects is highly regarded.
• Strong experience in tendering, procurement, contract negotiation and builder management.
• Good working knowledge of Australian building regulations and standards, together with Queensland legislation, approval requirements and development and construction processes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, coordination and problem‑solving skills.
• Relevant qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Property, Quantity Surveying or a related field are highly regarded.
• Strong English communication skills are required.
