Job summary

Public Sector People is seeking a Development Engineer on a contract basis with the NSW Regional Council. The role provides expert engineering advice on development applications, works certificates and subdivision certificates, supporting planning and infrastructure outcomes.

You will assess hydrology, hydraulic studies, flood risk, traffic and geotechnical reports, and collaborate across the Development and Compliance Group and with government agencies to ensure compliance with assessment

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering or related tertiary qualifications; or equivalent relevant depth of industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level technical assessment of engineering matters for development applications, subdivision certificates and related processes.
• Assess studies related to hydrology, hydraulic, flooding, stormwater quality, geometric design, traffic and geotechnical aspects in line with assessment criteria.
• Work collaboratively within Council's Development and Compliance Group and with relevant government agencies.

Key Accountabilities

• Provide high level technical assessment of engineering matters for a variety of development applications, subdivision certificate applications, footway dining applications.
• Assess the suitability of technical studies associated with urban development, in particular hydrology, hydraulic, flooding, stormwater quality, geometric design, traffic and geotechnical studies, in accordance with relevant assessment criteria.
• Work collaboratively within Council's Development and Compliance Group, across Council and with relevant government agencies.
