Job summary

Talent Web Recruitment is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead civil design delivery on urban land development and infrastructure projects across Sydney. You will own design quality, program and stakeholder interface from concept through construction-ready documentation, managing subdivision, roads, stormwater and earthworks while coordinating with councils and service authorities.

This is a hands-on senior role with mentoring responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 6+ years' civil design experience.
• Tertiary qualification in civil engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience on urban land development and civil infrastructure projects.
• Proficient in 12D and AutoCAD.
• Strong working knowledge of Australian Standards and council design standards.
• Good understanding of service authority design approval and construction standards.
• Sound interpersonal and communication skills, including client-facing liaison.
• Practical understanding of safety in design.

Responsibilities

• Manage delivery of all design aspects of the project on time and to the required standards.
• Develop detailed designs and documentation in 12D and AutoCAD.
• Prepare design packages for council and service authority approval.
• Interface regularly with clients, councils, service authorities and other consultants.
• Embed safety in design practices throughout the design process.
• Mentor junior staff and support coordination across disciplines as required.

About the role

You will manage the design of subdivision, roads, stormwater, earthworks and associated civil infrastructure, producing detailed models and drawings in 12D and AutoCAD and driving designs through internal review, council and service authority approval. This is a hands-on senior role: you will still produce design, not only review it, while coordinating the wider project team and keeping delivery on time and to standard.
