Job summary

Talent Corp in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Desktop Support Specialist to join a leading utility company. The role focuses on ongoing systems maintenance, support and operation of the IT infrastructure in a fast-paced environment.

You will provide level 2 support across network, server and desktop hardware, as well as mobile devices and software. The position is based in the CBD with 5 days in the office and opportunities to extend beyond the initial contract.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of desktop and IT support experience.
• Strong Windows OS and server fundamentals.
• Experience with Exchange, Active Directory, and SCCM.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Intune.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide level 2 support across network, server and desktop hardware, mobile devices, software and peripheral devices, including proprietary applications.
• User support via a helpdesk ticketing system, as well as direct contact by email, Teams, phone and in person.
• Monitor and maintain the IT infrastructure.
• Work closely with senior Infrastructure and Software Development staff in both a support capacity, and in the implementation of projects.
• Identify and troubleshoot system problems in order to improve performance and reliability.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of the IT department and business by making recommendations for system enhancements.

• Provide level 2 support across network, server and desktop hardware, mobile devices, software and peripheral devices, including proprietary applications

• Monitor and maintain the IT infrastructure

Skills and experience we are looking for:

• Strong proficiency with Windows desktop and server platforms, including Exchange, Active Directory, SOE, Windows Server (Group Policy, DNS, DFS, DHCP), SCCM


• Experience with Microsoft 365 and Intune


• Experience with Windows desktop deployment


• Experience with Office 365 applications and services


• Proven critical thinking and experience troubleshooting across a range of systems


• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
