Job summary

Chandler Macleod Group is seeking an experienced Design Draftsperson to join their Projects & Engineering team in Kurri Kurri, NSW. The role focuses on preparing designs and technical documentation for fixed and mobile plant assets across a diverse portfolio.

You will work with engineers and project teams to deliver compliant, high-quality design solutions, with a pathway toward flexible working after onboarding.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' experience in engineering project teams.
• Proven drafting role in industrial, manufacturing, mining or heavy industry.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD; SolidWorks experience is highly regarded.
• Knowledge of AS1100 drawing standards.
• Experience producing detailed construction drawings and technical documentation.
• Understanding of fixed plant equipment and industrial infrastructure.
• Strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork abilities.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Minimum 3-5 years' experience working within engineering project teams.
• Proven experience in an engineering drafting role within industrial, manufacturing, mining, processing or heavy industry environments.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD, with SolidWorks experience highly regarded.
• Sound knowledge of AS1100 drawing standards.
• Experience producing detailed construction drawings and technical documentation.
• Practical understanding of fixed plant equipment, materials handling systems and industrial infrastructure.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Flexible Working

While flexible work arrangements are available, successful candidates will be required to be office-based initially to support onboarding and collaboration with the broader team. Over time, there will be an opportunity to work from home on Mondays and Fridays, with Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday remaining core office days.
