Xeros Piccolo Consulting Engineers is looking for a Structural/Civil Engineering Draftsperson in Wagga Wagga, NSW. This full-time role focuses on turning design concepts into precise drawings, supporting infrastructure, structural, and civil projects.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of industry experience, strong AutoCAD skills, and a solid understanding of civil/structural engineering principles, Australian standards, and coordination with engineers and project managers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of industry experience.
• Proficiency in English language.
• Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software, particularly AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of civil and structural engineering principles, design practices and construction methodologies.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards (AS), National Construction Codes and engineering regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work accurately under deadlines.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, architects and other professionals.
• Ability to interpret engineering sketches, specifications and verbal instructions accurately.
• Organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple drawings and projects simultaneously.

The Opportunity

Xeros Piccolo Consulting Engineers is seeking a talented Structural/Civil Engineering Draftsperson to join our growing team in Wagga Wagga, NSW. This is a full-time position based at our Wagga Wagga office, where you will play a vital role in transforming engineering concepts into precise technical drawings and documentation. As an Engineering Draftsperson, you will support our engineering projects across infrastructure, structural design, and civil construction, contributing directly to the successful delivery of high-quality designs that meet client specifications and regulatory standards.

This position is suitable for draftspersons with 1-3 years of industry experience.

Key Responsibilities

Producing detailed technical drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD software, including site plans, construction details, and structural layouts.

Converting sketches, calculations and verbal instructions from engineers into comprehensive working drawings and documentation.

Ensuring all drawings comply with relevant Australian standards, codes and regulations, and company drawing standards.

About You

Minimum 1 year of industry experience.

Proficiency in the English language.

Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software, particularly AutoCAD, with the ability to produce professional-quality technical drawings.

Strong understanding of civil and structural engineering principles, design practices and construction methodologies.

Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards (AS), National Construction Codes and engineering regulations.

Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work accurately under deadlines.

Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, architects and other professionals.

Ability to interpret engineering sketches, specifications and verbal instructions accurately.

Organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple drawings and projects simultaneously.

A relevant tertiary qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering or Engineering Technology (or equivalent practical experience).

Proven experience as a Civil/Structural Engineering Draftsperson or in a similar technical drafting role.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable: Experience with BIM (Building Information Modelling) software or other specialist engineering design tools.

Desirable: Familiarity with infrastructure or structural engineering projects.
