Job summary

Chandler Macleod is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the Projects & Engineering team in Kurri Kurri, NSW. The role covers design support, governance and asset compliance across diverse industrial projects, from depots to large manufacturing facilities.

You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, lead electrical design activities, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Electrical Engineering degree required.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in project delivery teams.
  • Experience in manufacturing, mining, processing, or heavy industry environments.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Collaborative, solution-focused with cross-disciplinary teamwork.

Electrical Engineer

Location: Kurri Kurri, NSW

Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their Projects & Engineering team based in Kurri Kurri. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects, ranging from bulk depot facilities through to large-scale, technically complex manufacturing plants, while collaborating within a highly skilled multidisciplinary engineering team.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Responsible Engineer, you will provide electrical engineering expertise, design support, governance and compliance oversight for fixed and mobile plant assets. You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from concept development and design through to commissioning and handover.

Working closely with mechanical, electrical, drafting and project delivery teams, you will contribute to the successful execution of a variety of engineering projects while ensuring safety, quality and regulatory compliance remain at the forefront.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver electrical, instrumentation and control systems engineering support across capital projects and operational assets.
  • Assist with and execute electrical design scopes for a range of fixed plant projects, from bulk depots to complex manufacturing facilities.
  • Support project delivery through design development, technical reviews, commissioning and asset handover.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards, statutory requirements and safety regulations.
  • Participate in design reviews, hazard studies and risk assessments to support safe project outcomes.
  • Manage and coordinate external design and drafting resources where required.
  • Contribute to engineering governance, continuous improvement initiatives and asset compliance activities.
  • Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary project team and provide technical support to key stakeholders.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A degree qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years' experience working within project delivery teams.
  • Experience delivering electrical engineering solutions within manufacturing, mining, processing, industrial or heavy industry environments.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple disciplines.
Highly Regarded
  • RPEQ accreditation or a willingness to work towards achieving it.
  • Experience with hazardous areas, functional safety systems and industrial process environments.
  • Exposure to project management and contractor management.
