Job summary

Novotel Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast is seeking a talented Demi Chef to join our dynamic kitchen brigade. You will contribute to the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes in a bustling hotel environment.

Work alongside the Chef de Partie, ensure food safety and hygiene, manage stock, and help minimise waste while delivering exceptional guest experiences. We offer global Accor benefits, discounts, and strong development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Demi Chef in a hotel, restaurant, or high-volume kitchen.
• Relevant culinary qualifications.
• Experience with conference, events, and high-volume buffet breakfast operations is highly desired.
• Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster including weekends, public holidays and evenings.
• Passion for food, creativity, and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes.
• Maintain food quality and presentation standards.
• Support Chef de Partie and kitchen team with daily operations.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and WHS standards.
• Manage stock rotation and minimise food wastage.
• Contribute ideas to enhance menu offerings and guest experiences.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient work environment.
