Job summary

Lockheed Martin Australia is seeking an Air6500 Production Operations Manager to lead the production capability for a major defence program based in Adelaide or Newcastle with travel as required.

You will coordinate production, engineering, sourcing and quality to deliver hardware on schedule, cost and quality, from concept through to execution, while developing staff and driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading Production and Manufacturing for Defence Programs.
• Establishment and management of a Production Capability for Defence programs.
• Experience leading production teams on development programs.
• Advanced planning, stakeholder engagement and ERP rollout execution.
• Strong planning, organisational and management skills within multi-discipline teams.
• Experience developing Business Cases and Proposals.
• Understanding interfaces between stakeholders in Production, Procurement, Quality, ILS and Engineering.
• Strong financial management and reporting experience.
• Understanding interactions across Production, Engineering, PM, Finance, Commercial, Quality and support areas.

Responsibilities

• Support Design To Production with IPT alignment to schedule and cost targets.
• Lead Production Execution to meet milestones and drive continuous improvement.
• Plan and schedule production using the MRP system to meet dates and costs.
• Enforce Make/Buy policy and conduct value-engineered studies.
• Own budgeting, cost accountability and EV reporting as CAM.
• Manage stakeholder interfaces between Hardware Factory, IPTs, and Production team.
• Mentor and develop Production staff; foster continuous improvement.
• Lead risk and opportunity management per AS4360.
