Job summary

Amentum is seeking an experienced Project Manager – AIR6500 to lead the development of a major Government submission within a complex Defence capability environment from Canberra. You will tailor schedules, capture scope and cost inputs, and coordinate governance through ODCS compliance and stakeholder reviews.

The role requires navigating Defence approvals with senior leadership, coordinating industry partners and ensuring timely submission readiness for key milestones.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years' experience delivering Defence capability development, acquisition, program management or project integration activities.
• Demonstrated experience supporting First Pass, Second Pass, Combined Pass or equivalent Defence approval processes.
• Strong understanding of the One Defence Capability System (ODCS) and Defence governance frameworks.
• Experience coordinating scope, schedule, cost, commercial and risk information for major Defence programs.
• Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder environments across Defence and industry.
• Experience developing executive briefs, reports, submissions and governance materials.
• Strong project planning, scheduling and coordination skills.
• Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing stakeholder requirements.
• NV1 – NV2 Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate development of the AIR6500 Second Pass Government submission.
• Establish and maintain an integrated submission schedule and critical path.
• Coordinate project scope, cost, schedule, commercial and risk inputs.
• Manage submission dependencies, actions, decision points and milestones.
• Coordinate Defence and industry stakeholder contributions and reviews.
• Facilitate working groups, stakeholder forums and governance activities.
• Identify and manage issues, risks and opportunities impacting submission readiness.
• Support development of business cases, approval documentation and supporting artefacts.
• Monitor progress against key milestones and provide status reporting.
• Escalate critical issues and decisions requiring senior leadership attention.
• Ensure submission activities align with Defence governance and ODCS requirements.
• Support assurance, review and approval activities throughout the submission lifecycle.
