Job summary

Databricks in Melbourne is seeking a senior Solutions Architect to drive customer engagement and adoption of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. You will partner with Account Executives to shape strategy, coach junior teams, and influence decisions across the cloud ecosystem.

You will act as a trusted advisor for data analytics architecture and adoption, contributing to workshops and technical collateral, with growth through four tracks including technical specialization and leadership.

Qualifications

• Know how to engage in complex customer interactions and sales lifecycle in a technical pre‑sales capacity.
• Ability to influence decision‑makers and C‑level executives by developing relationships and orchestrating teams.
• Prior experience with coding in a core programming language (Python, Java, Scala) and willingness to learn Spark.
• Hands‑on expertise with complex proofs‑of‑concept and public cloud platform(s).
• Know how to provide technical solutions for specialized customer needs and navigate a competitive landscape.

Responsibilities

• Develop customer engagement strategies with Account Executives in your territory.
• Coach junior Solutions Architects and teams on use case prioritization and building technical champions.
• Influence stakeholders at all levels through complex engagements with the wider cloud ecosystem and 3rd party applications.
• Be a 'champion' for both customers and colleagues, acting as an expert solution architect and trusted advisor for data analytics architecture, design, and adoption of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.
• Contribute to Databricks' technical community engagement by developing customer‑facing collateral and leading workshops, seminars, and meet‑ups.
• There is an opportunity to continue development in one of four tracks: technical specialization, industry vertical thought leadership, strategic customer vision, and people management.
