Job summary

ASX in Sydney is seeking an experienced technology leader to become Head of Data Platform Engineering & Delivery. You will own the delivery, engineering and governance of the ASX Data Platform and lead the team responsible for building, onboarding and continuously improving the platform.

You will establish consistent design and engineering practices, promote a data product delivery model across ASX teams, and oversee the platform roadmap and its capabilities.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years in senior technology ownership or delivery roles within a corporate enterprise.
• Experience leading large data engineering teams.
• Proven success delivering a data product model using a cloud platform.
• Strong track record building and operating critical systems in regulated environments.
• Experience managing strategic vendor relationships and contracts.
• Ability to influence executives and board-level stakeholders.
• Collaborative leadership fostering inclusive, high-performing culture.

Responsibilities

• Own the ASX Data Platform including maintenance, risk/control, supplier management and customer service.
• Lead engineering capability responsible for delivering strategic data platform solutions.
• Define platform roadmap and oversee delivery to mature capabilities.
• Govern design governance and federated product teams building on the platform.
• Develop strategic partnerships and key supplier arrangements.
• Define and implement data platform operating model and governance.
• Ensure capability, capacity and career development plans for the team.
• Foster an inclusive, high-performing environment with clear goals and strong leadership.
• Partner with tech and business leaders to align data platform strategy with broader tech strategy.
• Establish scalable data product delivery with data workload teams across Technology.
• Oversee budgeting, resource planning and P&L for Data Platform Engineering & Delivery.
• Embed FinOps for cost transparency and allocation to platform consumers.
• Manage critical vendor relationships and commercial arrangements.
