Job summary

Boeing Defence Australia is seeking a Data Governance Lead in Brisbane to establish and mature the enterprise data governance program. You will drive policy, standards, and cross‑functional alignment with architecture, data owners and stewards, ensuring governance literacy and sound risk management.

Role requires 5+ years in data governance, strong data quality and privacy knowledge, and the ability to define KPIs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data governance or related roles.
• Strong understanding of metadata, lineage, quality and privacy.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Experience with governance technologies and vendor selection.
• Excellent stakeholder management across senior business, legal/compliance and IT.
• Proven ability to define governance KPIs and metrics.
• Clear written and verbal communication; policy and playbook creation.

Responsibilities

• Lead defining and refining of the data governance framework.
• Establish and improve data governance policies, standards and frameworks.
• Coordinate between governance, business and architecture teams.
• Engage data owners and stewards across departments.
• Lead governance forums, workshops and training; promote governance literacy.
• Monitor progress of data strategy implementation and risk management.
• Communicate priorities and benefits to stakeholders.
