Job summary

Konnexus in Melbourne CBD is seeking a Data Governance Lead for a permanent, hybrid role. You will own how data is governed, understood and adopted, and partner with executives to embed best practice and raise data maturity.

This leadership position focuses on data ownership, literacy and stewardship, shaping governance frameworks, and ensuring data is treated as a strategic asset across the business. Australian permanent residents or citizens will be considered.

Qualifications

We are partnering with a purpose-led organisation that has made significant investment in its data environment and is now looking for a Data Governance Lead to take ownership of how data is governed, understood and adopted across the business. This is an opportunity to build capability, influence senior stakeholders and create a governance framework that people use.

The Opportunity

This is a highly visible leadership role sitting between the business and the broader data function. You will be the person who brings structure, accountability and clarity to data management while ensuring governance enables the organisation rather than slowing it down. You will partner with executives, business leaders and data professionals to embed best practice, drive data quality outcomes and establish a culture where data is treated as a strategic asset.

Along the way, you will help shape data ownership, improve data literacy, champion stewardship and ensure stakeholders have confidence in the information they rely on every day.
