Job summary

Core Consultants is seeking a Data Entry and Field Data Technician (Geotechnical) to join our Sunshine Coast or Brisbane team. You will transcribe handwritten field logs into our logging software, and help create site plans in GIS/CAD to clearly show borehole locations and project features.

No tertiary qualification is required, and on-the-job training in our logging software and CAD/GIS will be provided. A careful, methodical approach and teamwork are essential for success on varied field

Data Entry and Field Data Technician (Geotechnical)

Core Consultants are a geotechnical and environmental consultancy delivering ground investigation and environmental projects across South-East Queensland and beyond. We need someone who takes pride in getting the details right. You'll turn real site information and observations into the data our engineers and geologists rely on, and you'll see the projects come to life on the ground.

Based in our Sunshine Coast or Brisbane offices.

Key responsibilities

Transcribe handwritten field logs into our logging software, checking entries for accuracy

Produce site plans in GIS/CAD, showing borehole locations, sample points and project features clearly

Prepare geological cross sections in our software package, working closely with our geologists and engineers

Keep project data organised so the team can find and use it easily, including light administration and record keeping

About you

Comfortable using a computer and keen to learn new software

Spreadsheet skills, CAD, GIS or mapping experience are a bonus, but not required

Take a careful, methodical approach to data entry and record keeping

Communicate clearly and enjoy working as part of a team

Curious about geology, geotechnics or environmental work

No experience or tertiary qualification needed

Nine day fortnight, with every second Friday off while keeping full-time hours

Flexible start and finish times where the project schedule allows
