Job summary

Based in our Sunshine Coast office, you will play a key role in delivering geotechnical and engineering geology projects from proposal through to completion. You will work closely with clients, mentor developing engineers and geologists, and contribute to the ongoing growth of our Queensland operations.

CGC is seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer or Senior Engineering Geologist to join our growing Sunshine Coast team, with exposure to transport, health, energy and community

Qualifications

• Experience on/s running ground investigations (small to medium).
• Understanding of local ground conditions, sampling methods and drilling techniques.
• Ability in lab scheduling, OH&S, proposal writing and project management.
• Experience with ground models and reporting (basic factual/interpretive).
• Ability to explain project involvement and software proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Deliver geotechnical and engineering geology projects from proposal to completion.
• Mentor developing engineers and geologists within the team.

Ground Recruitment is a Pty Ltd company established in July 2022. It exclusively provides highly specialised permanent recruitment services and high-performance coaching to geotechnical engineers, geologists and select clients across Australia and New Zealand.

This client is a privately owned and operated Australian company with the decision makers and owners residing mainly on the east coast of Australia. Their offices are in Brisbane, Melbourne and, most recently, Perth. They are technically focused and have a large team of Principals who are accessible.

An opportunity exists for a Geotechnical Engineer to join the Brisbane team of around 30 technical staff.

To be put forward to the client for this position, you will ideally be able to demonstrate that you have previous experience working on or running small to medium-sized ground investigations. It would be best if you were building on your understanding of local ground conditions , sampling methods, drilling techniques, lab scheduling, OH&S, proposal writing, project management, ground models, and report writing of basic factual and interpretative reports.

From a design perspective, you should have had some exposure to software packages such as Plaxis 2d & 3d, Slide 2d, Settle 3d, CPet-IT, and Wallap and be able to explain your project involvement and your level of software proficiency.

This is a fantastic opportunity if you are energised by pile design, technical projects, running site investigations, and being supported by senior staff.

To be put forward for this role, you should show an intention to work towards CPENG and RPEQ if you don't already have it.

Preferred but not essential:

• RPEQ registration
• CPEng or equivalent professional recognition
