Job summary

Geotesta Pty Ltd. in Brisbane invites applications for a Trainee Instrumentation Production & Field Technician role.

You will work with seasoned professionals in our Instrumentation Monitoring and installation team, under supervision from Senior Technicians and the Instrumentation and Monitoring Manager. You will assist with extensometer builds, equipment preparation, field installation support, and careful record-keeping while learning on the job.

Qualifications

• Keen interest in instrumentation assembly, electrical or electronic equipment.
• Ability to follow drawings, wiring instructions and test procedures.
• Good writing capability to maintain clear records.
• Willingness to learn.
• Full Australian working rights (unrestricted).
• Willingness to travel for work interstate or international assignments (for short or extended periods).
• Good standard of computer literacy.
• Client focus.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal (to liaise with clients).

Responsibilities

• Extensometer preparation and assembly – preparing parts, tools and cables for extensometer builds.
• Building extensometers and related products including assembly, wiring, labelling, quality checks and repairs.
• Preparing instrumentation equipment, accessories and consumables for workshop builds.
• Packing and dispatch for shipment.
• Assisting with installation and commissioning of instrumentation systems, including equipment preparation, cable installation and basic checks under supervision.
• Recording field work completed and providing clear information for installation and testing records.
• Contributing to OH&S objectives.
