Job summary

FIELD Engineers, based in Mackay, is seeking a hands-on field-focused role for an engineering student, graduate engineer or technician. You will collect accurate site data, operate specialist equipment, and travel across Queensland to support design and project delivery.

The role involves outdoor work, site measurements, equipment setup, and collaboration with a team. Full training is provided, with opportunities to develop specialist skills in a growing field.

Qualifications

Your opportunity at FIELD

Based in Mackay, you'll work alongside experienced engineers and technicians, collecting accurate site data that supports engineering design, analysis and project delivery.

You'll visit sites across Queensland, using specialist equipment to undertake laser scanning, laser tracking, plate load bearing testing and other field measurement activities.

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys being out on site rather than behind a desk. You'll spend time working outdoors, setting up and operating equipment, and working as part of a team to deliver practical outcomes for our clients. The role involves regular travel throughout Queensland, including overnight stays in camp accommodation when required.

Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for an engineering student, graduate engineer or engineering technician looking to develop specialist technical skills in a growing field.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in doing a job well and is keen to develop specialist technical skills. You will bring:

• Qualifications (currently studying towards, or have completed, a qualification in Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related discipline).
• A current Queensland driver's licence.
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• An interest in practical, field-based engineering work.
• A willingness to learn new technologies and develop specialist technical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate results.
• The physical capability to work outdoors and carry equipment on site.
• Ability to travel and stay away from home when required.
