Job summary

PTG Consulting in Sunshine Coast is seeking an entry to mid-level Geotechnical Engineer with 1-3 years of experience to join our growing team. Based in our Sunshine Coast office, with potential FIFO opportunities across Queensland.

Final year students or recent graduates are welcome. You will apply geotechnical site investigations, reporting, and project coordination, with exposure to slope stability, foundations, and infrastructure projects, while developing client relationships and working

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering.
• 1–3 years of Geotechnical engineering experience.
• Ability to manage site investigations and prepare reports.
• Willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and conduct fieldwork including site investigations and slope stability assessments.
• Undertake factual and interpretive geotechnical reporting.
• Undertake stability assessments with software including SlopeW and Geostudio.
• Conduct and communicate construction verification on foundations and other earthworks assessments.
• Build lasting client relationships through delivery and communication.

About the Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic Entry to Mid-Level Geotechnical Engineer with 1-3 years of experience to join our growing and dynamic team based in our Sunshine Coast office, with potential FIFO opportunities throughout Queensland available. We are also open to any final year engineering students or recent graduates.

The successful candidate will possess strong technical expertise in geotechnical site investigations and construction verification, along with proven project management capabilities. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects while contributing to the continued growth and success of our team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and conduct a wide range of fieldwork including for site investigations and slope stability assessments;
• Undertake factual and interpretive geotechnical reporting;
• Undertake stability assessments with software including SlopeW and/or Geostudio
• Conduct and communicate construction verification on foundations and other earthworks assessments;
• Building lasting client relationships through delivery and communication;

About You:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering
• 1-3 years of experience Geotechnical Engineering
• Proficient in geotechnical logging, interpretive reporting and managing site investigations
• Working knowledge of Geostudio and AutoCad would be advantageous
• Be able to work autonomously at times, managing clients, stakeholders and projects but with the support of the wider team
• Working towards or interested in attaining RPEQ and CPEng Qualification
• Personable with good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to travel to project sites and other offices as needed
• Current Automatic Class C Drivers License
