Job summary

Ararat Primary School invites applications for a Classroom Teacher in the Victorian Government system. You will plan, prepare and teach programs to achieve student outcomes, engage in reflection and professional learning, and contribute to school policies under the two-range salary structure.

As you gain experience, your role expands beyond the classroom to support school priorities, mentor staff and supervise student teachers while aligning with state-wide priorities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to plan literacy and numeracy integrated lessons.
• Experience using data to inform teaching and give feedback to students and parents.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individuals.
• Contribute to curriculum development and evaluation within the school.
• Undertake other classroom teaching related and organisational duties.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Supervise and mentor student teachers where required.
• Use student data to inform teaching strategies to improve outcomes.
