Job summary

Range 1 and 2 classroom teachers contribute to school policies, mentor peers and participate in professional learning to enhance student learning and engagement within the D.E. Values framework.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to teach literacy and numeracy.
• Experience planning and implementing high impact teaching strategies and evaluating their impact.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning using data to inform practice and give feedback.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with families and school community.
• Behaviours and attitudes aligned with Department values and commitment to professional learning.
• Ability to implement Positive Classroom Management and SWPBS approaches across learning environments.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individual students.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum programs.
• Attend and contribute to parent/teacher meetings and school activities.
• Supervise and train student teachers where applicable.
• Use student data to inform teaching approaches and support targets for learning outcomes.
