Job summary

NEXTDC is expanding its hyperscale data centre team in West Footscray. We are seeking a Data Centre Technician with a mechanical or electrical background to join the facilities team on a 24/7 rotating roster.

On-the-job training will cover mechanical, electrical, cabling, monitoring, and fire protection systems. The role emphasises hands-on facility operations rather than IT, with opportunities to work across mechanical, electrical, and building services in a mission-critical environment.

Qualifications

• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills required.
• Strong customer service and communication abilities.
• Proactive attitude with a collaborative mindset.
• Engineering background or trade cert preferred for mechanical/electrical roles.
• Australian Citizenship required to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with vendor management for maintenance of core mechanical and electrical systems.
• Support 24/7 critical operations through monitoring, maintenance, and incident escalation.
• Attend to Remote Hands requests such as Rack Power ups.
• Collaborate with internal teams and customers to ensure seamless operations.
