Job summary

CDC Data Centres Pty is seeking Service Technicians to support operation of mission-critical infrastructure in our Melbourne data centre. You’ll apply electrical, HVAC or industrial experience to monitor power, cooling and fire systems in live data centre environments, following procedures and safety standards.

The role offers tailored CDC Academy training, a 24/7 shift roster (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off), and the opportunity to grow in a stable, high-availability environment with strong safety

Qualifications

• Trade or technical background in Electrical, Refrigeration/HVAC, Mechanical, or related field is highly desirable.
• Experience in critical or high-availability environments with strong safety and compliance requirements.
• Exposure to monitoring or control systems such as BMS, EMS, or SCADA-type platforms.
• Familiarity with complex infrastructure or plant equipment (HVAC, power, generators, fire systems).
• Strong fault-finding, problem-solving and situational awareness.
• Ability to produce clear documentation and post-incident reports.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to alarms across power, cooling and fire systems.
• Perform physical inspections to ensure equipment operates within parameters.
• Prioritise faults and determine escalation or contractor support.
• Carry out operational switching to prevent outages.
• Support planned maintenance and monitor on-site contractors.
• Document incidents and maintenance activities for continuous improvement.
