Job summary

Royal Flying Doctor Service NT (RFDS NT) in Darwin seeks a Manager Maintenance Operations to lead engineering operations, ensuring safe, compliant maintenance aligned with CASA rules. You will oversee planning, execution and team development to maximise aircraft availability for aeromedical missions.

Based in Darwin, the role requires strong leadership, regulatory knowledge and the ability to coordinate across bases, with some after-hours support to maintain continuity.

Qualifications

• Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with CASA B1/B2 approval.
• Strong leadership experience in regulated aviation environments.
• Proven ability to plan and manage complex maintenance schedules.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable operating under pressure and making sound decisions.

Responsibilities

• Support Head of Engineering with strategic planning and daily operations.
• Oversee maintenance to ensure airworthiness, safety and compliance.
• Deputise for Senior Base Engineers to maintain operations.
• Manage engineering manuals, procedures and audit readiness.
• Coordinate modifications and maintenance programs across fleet types.
• Lead and develop the Darwin engineering team and cross-base collaboration.
