Job summary

The Royal Flying Doctor Service South Australia / Northern Territory (RFDS SA/NT) is seeking a Facilities Officer in Darwin to provide internal technical support for facilities matters, coordinate maintenance and minor projects, oversee contractors and service providers, and manage refurbishments across sites, buildings and fleet.

Qualifications

• At least five years’ project, facilities or business management experience.
• Experience in facilities management or operations with building services knowledge.
• Exposure to fire, mechanical, plumbing or electrical services.
• Contract management experience with monitoring contractor performance.
• Ability to develop maintenance and servicing schedules.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills; able to meet deadlines.
• Excellent customer service, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Competency in Word, Excel, databases and reporting systems.
• Knowledge of building safety, access, egress and parking requirements.
• A current Australian Driver’s License and eligibility for Aviation Security Identification Card.

Responsibilities

• Prioritising and supporting facilities-related work requests across sites, infrastructure and fleet.
• Reviewing planned maintenance reports and coordinating remediation works.
• Providing technical trade advice and input on assets.
• Working with external trades, consultants and service providers.
• Managing minor project works and refurbishments across sites, buildings and fleet.
• Overseeing project budgets, invoices and contractor performance.
• Managing defects liability periods and handovers.
• Conducting site inspections and service audits for safety and standards.
• Monitoring contractor performance and identifying service improvements.
• Contributing to WHS, risk, quality and environmental activities.
