Job summary

Royal Flying Doctor Service SA/NT in Darwin is seeking a proactive Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) to maintain RFDS aircraft and components, ensuring safety and compliance. The role reports to the Senior Base Engineer and involves accurate record-keeping and defect reporting.

You will collaborate with certifying LAMEs, Maintenance Control, and the larger Engineering team to sustain serviceable aircraft and support ongoing RFDS operations.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Aeroskills or four years' aircraft maintenance experience in the last six years.
• Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertake safe maintenance and servicing of the RFDS aircraft fleet within your competency scope.
• Keep certifying LAME updated and seek approval for all work.
• Identify and report defects to the certifying LAME or Maintenance Coordinator.
• Maintain accurate WinAir and other aircraft records.
• Work with RFDS Engineering systems and processes and maintenance manuals.
• Maintain aircraft support equipment and ensure tool control.
• Assist operational crews and provide temporary relief at other RFDS bases.
• Contribute to safety, quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
