Job summary

Northern Beaches Council is seeking an experienced DA Planner for up to 12 months to cover parental leave. The role focuses on managing multiple planning applications, acting as an expert witness at Land and Environment Court; and providing high-level planning advice to residents.

You'll be part of NSW's top-performing Development Assessment unit, with a tertiary qualification in Town Planning and exposure to reports and panels. Flexible working including work from home is available.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Town Planning or equivalent.
• Experience preparing reports and presenting to Local and Planning Panels and the Land and Environment Court.
• Current NSW Class C Drivers Licence.
• Experience with Technology One, Content Manager, Objective Trapeze, or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage and assess multiple planning applications simultaneously with timely, accurate assessments.
• Act as an expert witness in Land and Environment Court appeals and represent Council at planning panels.
• Attend to planning enquiries, provide planning advice and deliver high-level customer service to residents.
