Job summary

Ballina Shire Council is seeking a qualified and experienced Town Planner to join the Development Services team for a temporary parental relief position of up to 12 months. You will contribute to development assessment and compliance services while supporting a positive customer-focused culture.

The role offers mentorship from experienced professionals in a fast-paced environment and a full-time salary commensurate with skills and qualifications, with flexible work arrangements and relocation

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in development assessment and statutory planning.
• Knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a focus on delivering quality customer service within set timeframes.
• Demonstrated good communication skills, both oral and written, including the ability to contribute to technical reports and submissions.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the delivery of high-quality development assessment and compliance services.
• Provide advice and support that helps achieve positive development outcomes across the Shire.
• Work closely with the Development Services team to contribute to a positive, customer-focused culture, and ensure the section goals and objectives are achieved.
• Learn from and be mentored by experienced professionals in a fast-paced and supportive environment.
