Job summary

Ballina Shire Council is seeking an experienced Town Planner to join the Development Services team to influence growth and contribute to well-planned, sustainable development.

The role offers mentorship, a fast-paced environment, and a focus on delivering high-quality development assessment. This is a temporary parental relief position for up to 12 months, with a commitment to customer-focused service and collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in development assessment and statutory planning.
• Knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a focus on delivering quality customer service within set timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality development assessment and compliance services and provide sound advice to support positive development outcomes.
• Support the Development Services team and contribute to a positive, customer-focused culture.
• Assist in shaping the future growth and sustainable development of the Ballina Shire.
