Job summary

Northern Beaches Council is seeking a Planner for up to 12-month parental leave coverage in NSW. The role focuses on managing planning applications, acting as expert witness in Land and Environment Court matters, and providing planning advice to residents.

You will join a high-performing Development Assessment unit and use Technology One, Content Manager, or Objective Trapeze to support timely, accurate assessments. A tertiary Town Planning qualification and NSW Driver's Licence are required.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Town Planning or equivalent.
• Excellent project management and organisational skills.
• Experience preparing reports and presenting to Local and Planning Panels and the Land and Environment Court.
• Current NSW Class C Drivers Licence.
• Experience with Technology One, Content Manager, Objective Trapeze, or similar software is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Manage and assess multiple planning applications simultaneously.
• Act as expert witness in Land and Environment Court appeals, managing and representing Council at planning panels.
• Attend planning enquiries, provide planning advice and high level customer service to residents.
