Job summary

The Sydney-based Local Council is seeking a Transport Planning Specialist on a 12-month maternity cover contract. You will support the Urban Policy and Planning team to develop transport planning strategies across the Council area, taking a Complete Streets approach to town centres and transport across the city.

Responsibilities include advising on proposals, delivering reports, and coordinating with consultants while engaging with the community and stakeholders to identify needs and respond to

Qualifications

Experience in Transport Planning; council experience desirable but not essential.
Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams across Council.
Extensive knowledge of Roads Act 1993 and Roads Transport Act 2013.
Experience in managing individual projects and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

Develop key strategies and plans relevant to transport planning and infrastructure needs
Deliver professional reports and presentations to various stakeholders
Engage with the community to identify needs & respond to queries
Advise Council and key stakeholders on transport planning proposals
Undertake quantitative and qualitative research including planning matters, emerging trends and best practice approaches
