Job description

A well-established national wholesale distributor is creating a new customer-facing role at its Sydney head office. Its customers are hospitality and retail businesses across Australia, and many of them have been ordering from the business for years. You'd be their main point of contact, working closely with the Customer & Sales Operations Manager.

About the opportunity
As the business grows, it wants its customers to have a dedicated, local person they can rely on. That's you. You'll own customer enquiries from start to finish, so orders keep moving and customers always know who to call.

Because the role is brand new, you'll have the chance to shape it. You'll help decide how enquiries are handled, what good service looks like, and how the teams work together to deliver it.

What your days will involve

  • Being the first point of contact for customer enquiries by phone and email, and seeing each one through
  • Taking customer queries from the sales team, so they can focus on growing the business
  • Working with supply chain, procurement and the warehouse to get clear answers on stock, deliveries and orders
  • Keeping customers in the loop before problems arise, such as helping them plan orders ahead of busy periods
  • Building strong relationships, both with customers and with colleagues across the business
  • Spotting questions that keep coming up, and suggesting ways to fix them at the source
  • Keeping customer records accurate, so everyone can see where things stand

What you'll bring

  • 3–5 years' experience in customer service or sales support
  • A background in FMCG, manufacturing, wholesale, distribution or a similar industry
  • An outgoing nature, and you're happy to chase an answer rather than wait for one
  • You're comfortable running your own day and making decisions on your own
  • Clear communication, whether you're talking to a customer or asking the warehouse for an update
  • ERP experience is useful (NetSuite is a plus), but not essential

Why you'll enjoy it
This business is investing in its systems, its processes and its people. You'll join at a point where your ideas will be heard and can shape how customer service runs. The office team is close-knit, leadership is visible and on site often, and there's a real push to build a more connected workplace. Someone who brings energy and gets people talking will be welcomed.

The details

  • $75,000 – $90,000 + superannuation, depending on experience
  • Based on site near Rosehill, Western Sydney, Monday to Friday, with up to two work-from-home days a month
  • Limited public transport to the site, so your own car will make life easier
