AUSMAR is the Sunshine Coast’s leading multi-award-winning builder. We are seeking an experienced Production Estimator to join our Custom Homes team and manage the production of purchase orders and cost control for approximately 20 Custom homes from contract through to completion.

Based at our Maroochydore HQ, the role involves collaboration with Contract Estimator, Sales, Design, Construction, trades and Client Liaison teams to maintain budgets and project timelines.

Qualifications

5+ years hands-on experience in Custom residential estimating.
Experience managing purchase orders and job costs across large Custom homes.
Strong understanding of cost control, budgeting and value engineering.
Proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders to keep projects on track.

Responsibilities

Produce and manage purchase orders for all build elements using Databuild; perform regular job costing and profit forecasting.
Manage ETSs, variations, colour selections and day-to-day orders with Site Supervisors, trades and suppliers to keep projects progressing.
Review and balance Provisional Sum items and reconcile invoices against purchase orders.
Prepare complex, accurate construction specifications and job-specific documentation.

We are seeking an experienced Production Estimator to join our Custom Homes team and play a key role in the successful delivery of large-scale Custom homes.

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who is already doing the job, knows Custom Homes inside and out, and can hit the ground running.

The Role

Reporting to the Custom Homes Building Manager and working directly with the Contracts Estimator, you will manage the production of purchase orders and cost control of approximately 20 Custom homes from contract through to completion.

Working closely with our Contract Estimator, Sales, Design, Construction, trades, suppliers and Client Liaison teams, you will be responsible for:

Producing and managing purchase orders for all build elements using Databuild, including regular job costing and profit forecasting.

Managing ETSs, variations, colour selections and day‑to‑day orders, working closely with Site Supervisors, trades and suppliers to keep projects progressing smoothly.

Regularly reviewing and balancing Provisional Sum (PS) items and reconciling invoices against purchase orders through Filebound.

Preparing complex, accurate construction specifications and job‑specific documentation.

Reviewing documentation, plans and project requirements to identify discrepancies, cost overruns or construction issues and proactively coordinate their resolution.

Completing pre‑issue checks to ensure compliance with AUSMAR standards, project requirements, authority approvals and estate covenants.

Maintaining accurate job costing, systems and workflow information throughout each project.

Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clear communication and smooth project delivery.

Managing competing priorities, responding to critical workflow requirements and thinking on your feet in a fast‑paced Custom Homes environment.

What We are Looking For

This is an experienced position, and applicants must be able to demonstrate:

5+ years’ hands‑on experience in Custom residential estimating, with proven experience managing purchase orders and job costs across large Custom homes, ideally up to $2.5M.

Extensive, current Databuild experience – essential. You must be confident and highly competent using Databuild.

Experience managing approximately 15–20+ Custom homes per year, including ETSs, variations, Provisional Sums, budgeting, cost control and profit forecasting.

Strong understanding of residential construction documentation, including specifications, plans, engineering, colour selections, product information and authority approvals.

Proven ability to work closely with a Contract Estimator, Site Supervisors, trades and suppliers to maintain budgets, allowances and project timelines.
